Diary of an Ordinary Man What Would You Do If The Zombies Attacked? eBook G Stewart

What would you do if the zombies attacked?
It was a question Michael had joked about with his friends on several occasions, but when it became a reality, Michael was forced to make decisions which would lead to his family surviving, or not.
Set in in Edinburgh, Scotland, and written in the style of a diary, this short story covers the decisions and actions taken by an ordinary man to try to ensure the safety of his family facing an imminent zombie attack.
This short story is also available in the book 'Terror Twister - Horror Stories with a Twist'.
Around 10,500 words. Contains strong language.
Now includes the introductory sample to the forthcoming Rise of the Witch Book 1 of the Witch Hunter series.
Diary of an Ordinary Man What Would You Do If The Zombies Attacked? eBook G Stewart
This story is a slightly different take on both the "diary of" and "Zombie" genre books. The nature of the zombie was a refreshing twist. However, some zombie purists may find that twist disappointing and distracting. As it was, the twist held the story together well and it worked well for this book.
Narrative is written in a way that seems like a re-write notes, if the notes sat on the shelf for a year with the author going back to clean it up and explain. As such, it lacks a bit of mystery and mystique that might remain in a literal "diary of" type story. Some of the fear and desperation that the characters would have experienced is lost in this method of story telling.
That said, I read the book in about three evenings of "before bed" reading without getting distracted by the rest of my pile of "read someday" material, so is a worthwhile read for zombie affectionados. I give it a +87 or three stars.

Diary of an Ordinary Man What Would You Do If The Zombies Attacked? eBook G Stewart Reviews
This is a short story which encompasses a period of almost a month. Like the beginning of many other zombie books, the author follows the same trend of introducing a catastrophe of some kind, limiting communications and rumors of death and reanimation. Families are pulling up stakes and relocating to areas thought to be safe and secure, but this outbreak is huge! Instead of fleeing, Michael takes extreme steps to secure him home, setting traps, gathering supplies and developing contingency plans to protect his family from the zombie scourge. The ending leaves the reader wondering what Michael would have done differently if he had only known. Worthwhile read about love and devotion. Good way to spend a couple of hours.
